I think each person kind of has their own yoga. Even people who don't practice the asanas or postures are doing yoga when they do something that connects them to their own essence, flow or seat of creativity. That said, for me, the process of coming home to the body time and time again is incredibly supportive and expansive. When we allow ourselves a chance to focus on the intricacies of the machine through the practice of asana we are directing ourselves back to our origins of life in the body we are in. For the duration of a session on the mat we give to ourselves, and that can be incredibly sweet time spent.
I am teaching private sessions in vinyasa, pranassage, restorative and yin yoga; or, some combination of the above. Should you choose to book an appointment with me we will discuss your goals and interests, and we can always modify on the fly. The beauty of working one on one as a yoga teacher is that I have the freedom to make the session right for you.

Definitions:
Vinyasa - A series of postures and movements linking one to the other. Generally a more vigorous style utilizing strength, flexibility and a steady attention to breath. (90 min)
Restorative - More passive and supported poses utilizing props to allow us to fall into ourselves as we rest and restore. A very meditative and deeply therapeutic experience. (60 min)
Yin - Focusing on floor-based passive poses with longer holds. We allow the body to find it's own way into the depth of a posture. The emphasis here is on keeping connective tissue healthy and on simulating the energy meridians through sustained sensation. (60 min)
Pranassage - Essentially a fully assisted yoga session with the recipient almost fully in a passive and receptive state most of the time. This is a deep experience of knowing yoga even for those who have never tried yoga. (90 min)
